The AP’s big exposé on Hillary meeting with Clinton Foundation donors is a mess

Except it turns out not to be true. The nut fact that the AP uses to lead its coverage is wrong, and Braun and Sullivan’s reporting reveals absolutely no unethical conduct. In fact, they found so little unethical conduct that an enormous amount of space is taken up by a detailed recounting of the time Clinton tried to help a former Nobel Peace Prize winner who’s also the recipient of a Congressional Gold Medal and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Let's review.

Zika is spreading and...

Zika virus may linger in babies' blood for months, with unknown effects
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/08/24/zika-virus-may-linger-babies-blood-months-unknown-effects/89269004/

House Republicans added "poison pill" amendments to the bill that would fund the fight against zika, then claimed it's the Democrats playing politics, and went on vacation.

Senate Stalls Zika Funding Laden With Partisan Riders

"It also bars the money from going to contraceptive services for women in Zika-afflicted areas, and to groups such as Planned Parenthood."
"The GOP version of the bill also eliminates a rule that bars the flying of Confederate flags at veterans’ cemeteries. Further, it waives environmental rules to allow the increased spraying of pesticides in waterways, although Zika-carrying mosquitoes do not breed in moving rivers and ponds."

Ok, so what happens when you shut down Planned Parenthood?

Texas has highest maternal mortality rate in developed world, study finds

What happens when you let agriculture further pollute water?

Florida's algae problem stems from decades of Lake Okeechobee pollution
http://phys.org/news/2016-07-florida-algae-problem-stems-decades.html

Conclusion: House Repukes, er, Republicans favor (1) paid vacations for themselves, (2) babies with microcephaly from zika, (3) higher mortality rates for poor mothers, (4) more agricultural water pollution in spite of millions in lost tourism trade.

Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed.

The most fanatical Republicans want to dissolve the federal state. As long as they cannot have it, paralysing the federal level is an acceptible alternative. Trump invited Farage in Mississippi is probably no accident. Brexit and secession are quite comparable. Those behind Trump might stoke the fire of a new secession.

And it should be clear by now that conservative delegates could not care less about the lives of those who do not vote for them.

Hillary Clinton Microwaves Donald Trump’s Axis of Tinfoil

Clinton tied Trump to famed conspiracy theorists on Thursday, including one who believes the 9/11 attacks were an inside job—and whom Trump insisted he ‘will not let down.’

Also, he claimed the Oklahoma bombing was an inside job.

In other dirt news Trump's new Campaign CEO, Mr. Bannon faced domestic violence charges in 1996. Way to increase your appeal to women. This will really help close the gap with the women vote.

Trump's strategy makes sense. He will get the women vote by threatening to beat them if they don't vote for him.

What is the worst that can happen to the Trump campaign?

Why Trump Isn't Tweeting About the Olympics
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/08/donald-trump-olympics-twitter-214176

"Why has Trump hit the mute button on the Olympics, while Clinton has pumped up the volume? There’s a good reason for that, and a surprising one. The spectacle of America vanquishing its global rivals is—ironically, amazingly—utterly terrible for the “America First” candidate."

Hi Everybody

Trump has bought a 10 million dollar TV ad buy to add to the earlier purchase. He seems to be ramping up his TV ad race. And then at least the announcement is again bizarre, because that TV ad buy includes Colorado and Virginia (and New Hampshire) states that are far out of reach, and money spent there is now a waste. Throwing parts of his TV ad budget to those states with 70 days left to the election, means less resources to win the four state he has to win, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. But he is advertising in those four states as well, and likely the amount of money spent will go mostly to those 4 vital states, and less to the others.

Then on the speaking. Trump continues to be Trump and refuses to go to the same boring set of battleground states where the election will be decided. Its like the general in charge of the war, visiting those peaceful fronts where the enemy isn't engaging, and cheering those troops, but not visiting the actual battle where his soldiers need the inspiration and guidance of the general.

So yeah, Trump is just now speaking in Arizona. Arizona a state that Hillary has not yet spent any TV ad money to fight for. A state that has voted Republican in every election in the last 50 years except when Bill Clinton ran. And a state where Hillary is still a few points behind Trump currently. But Trump wastes his time there - because its Sheriff Arpaio's backyard and Trump will have a roudy conservative immigrant-hating live audience there. Its a tour of an aging rock star visiting fave cities playing old hits, not a still-popular rock star playing new songs and trying to win newer, younger fans.

What I read between the tea-leaves is that Trump Campaign management is conflicted internally, giving Trump opposing advice, and what we already knew from Trump before, is that he will keep flipping his 'mind' based on who spoke to him last, so he's for example cancelled now 4 events in the past week, but that didn't end his run of campaigning in non-battleground states. Trump is not consistent to any degree. He is showing momentary moves that indicate he is getting serious (way too little and way too late) and then he has his typical Trumpian 'lapses' back to the nonsense.

I do expect another campaign shake-up in a few weeks, this is clearly chaos and it won't get Trump any actual gains. He will need someone to blame, and as he is getting mixed advice from his team, which is diametrically opposed (look at the mess of his immigration positions and deportation of the illegals) Trump will fire someone.

If Trump is smart about it, he'll fire (or demote) Bannon. If Trump goes by his feelings and what he personally thinks he should be doing, he'll fire (or demote) Conway. And of course he could fire/demote both and bring in another outsider to restart his campaign.

I had a joke poll on Twitter where I asked my followers to vote. Options were:
Trump will lose
Trump will pivot and lose
Trump will unpivot and lose
Trump will repivot and lose

But that is kind of what his life is like. Totally devoid of a plan or purpose, Trump is a weathervane that spins wildly in a storm.

Hi Isceald

That is priceless. Thanks!!! I tried to put it into a tweet, but even with very careful editing and spelling shortcuts, I couldn't fit it so much less than 140 characters, to fit your name also onto the Tweet. So I instead wrote the full poem like you had it, into a short image file, plus the title and you as the author, referencing the blog. And posted that onto my Twitter followers. Thanks! VERY VERY funny.
