Obama is continuing to kill any chance for the GOP to "connect" to hispanics. The Democrats can now point to "real action" and to the Republicans as anti-hispanics.

And, obviously, the militant actions the GOP now wil wage in Washington will be used against them.

I should have added that Obama just announced he will legalize illegal imigrants.

Hi Millard

First on Libertanianism... thanks yeah, that makes sense. The beach analogy is perfect

And thanks for the link, very good article touching on several points I made in the long 'why Hillary wins' stuff but adding several points that I never even thought of.

winter - yeah that part I REALLY don't get. To me, it seems like Republicans can't do basic math. They already know the black vote is so totally sowed up by the Democrats (was years before Obama) they should see an easy parallel. Why, when the recent trends have already tilted against Republicans in Hispanic vote, but the trends keep getting worse - and they KNOW white voters will lose their numerical majority (while retaining a plurality) soon, why would they go deliberately antagonize the Hispanic voters now? The smart move would have been to support Obama on this issue (or better, to send him a modest piece of legislation allowing this). So what if a few extremist right-wingers hate it on talk shows. They would never vote Democratic anyway. I don't get the GOP on this. They are dooming a generation.

this article has a more number crunching angle to it.
