In celebration of this blog passing its 3 Millionth visitor, on Monday I launched the Twitter contest to search for the best summarization of my 30,000 word article. In one cycle of 24 hours (so we can cover the whole planet), a total of 93 Entries came in offering summaries of why Stephen Elop is the worst CEO ever (this far exceeded what I had expected). If you want to read through all 93 entries plus a few bonus ones, in one easy place - some were very clever, funny, piercing, precise and revealing, they are all here for all of history.
We then had the voting for the next 24 hours and now have found the winners. I should say, we also had other creative ways to celebrate the blog - I actually received two contributions of original cartoons created by fans reading the blog (thank you so much!). So lets celebrate the Winners and the party that was Summarize Proust (sorry, that was a Monty Python sketch) - I meant to say, Summarize Ahonen:
There were 23 entrants who got multiple votes, and I want to one more time mention them here, as the finalists and honorable mentions. Congratulations to these clever summarizers among my Tweeps, in alphabetical order of their Twitter handles: Chris @creip, Roman Porotnikov @deepcode, Edward Batten @edwardrbatten JD! @hmmJD1, Jouko Ahvenainen @jahven, Jani Ahonmaki @loves2travel2, Heikki Hyppanen @mandrl, Martin vonWillebrand @mvonwillebrand, Omichalek @omichalek, OnniOnni @OmniOnni, Riitta Hyppanen @RiittaHyppanen, A Chapagain @SomeDude43, Stanil Bozhkov @Stanilb, Steve Woodgate @swoodgate, Taike Nobu @taike_hk, Miguel Angel Uriondo @uriondo, and Heinchen Welman @welmanh
Now lets take the first of the cartoons. This came from Twitter. One of my followers, Anthony Contoleon whose TW handle is @anthony_p_c was inspired by my big 30,000 word blog and the many jokes in it, and created this tribute from the part where I say that the Lumia Windows Phone strategy has now died and the stores are not able to sell Lumia being Osborned by no migration to Windows 8:

See original cartoon at Purported Gurus blogsite here
Thank you Anthony! I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined that someone would take something I wrote on this blog, and then go create a cartoon joke about it. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
Now lets go to the winners. We had a clear winner and clear second place finisher, but there was a tie for third. Not just tie between two, but tie between four entrants. Each will of course win the 3rd place prize, of one of my ebooks of their choice. Congratulations. But here are the four Tweets which tied for third place to summarize my blog:
From Adrian Estinosa @aespinosa1975:
"The inside enemy of Nokia, the ultimate brief analysis" in http://bit.ly/OArMOD
From Colin Crawford @ccoc
Defeat from jaws of victory - how Nokia's CEO Elop burnt an iconic brand http://bit.ly/OArMOD
From Terence Eden @edent
Note to self, never piss off @tomiahonen! Devastating critique of Elop's misadventures at Nokia http://bit.ly/OArMOD
From The Happy Yinka @adeyinka41
The memo that cost 13billion in sales for Nokia @tomiahonen http://bit.ly/OArMOD
Congratulations to the Third Place finishers! Then lets take my personal favorite, which didn't make it to the finalists but this one made me laugh the most, from Muriel Devillers @MBBdV who Tweeted:
Every time I say ELOP my dog attacks !!! Thanks to @tomiahonen -->The Sun Tzu of Nokisoftian Microkia http://bit.ly/OArMOD
Now lets take the envelope for the second place finisher. This comes to us from Sweden from Lars Samuelsson who Tweets as @larsxsamuelsson. Lars wins 2 ebooks of his choice for this second-most retweeted summary of my monster-long blog:
Designed by Finns, improved around the world, manufactured by great people & destroyed by 1 Canadian http://bit.ly/OArMOD
Congratulations Lars! You have a career in summarizing if you ever want to change jobs haha.. And then before we reveal the winning entry, lets take ANOTHER cartoon that came in, after reading the blog. This cartoon was generated by someone who sent it privately to me, so this was not openly in public. This is the first time anyone sees this. And the original creator of this cartoon wishes to remain anonymous, so he or she put the copyright notice into the cartoon with my name - but please, my readers, I am not this talented, I can only write, I could not make this type of cartoon. So the copyright notice is there just to protect the creative effort. But yes, this is based on my ending to the blog where I wrote the fairy tale ending to the story, how the old grandmom recites the story of the gentle nice man Stevie Eloppie, who told all his employees to jump because there was a fire, even though nobody noticed any fire. Then when they were in the ice cold water, kind Elop set the oily water on fire, then released the sharks, then started shooting with machine guns at the Nokians still alive, and finally released the poison gas.. I give you the second cartoon based on my blog article:
Original Cartoon by Anonymous, used with permission
You may re-use this cartoon as long as you include link to this original source.
I especially love it that in the cartoon, Elop is the annoying paperclip-dude that Microsoft Windows introduced back when, haha. Thank you, Anonymous! I really really appreciate it!
So as the laughter subsides and the room of Tuxedo-clad awards finalists settle down and the anticipation is very intense, we get the final envelope. The Grand Prize winner of the First Annual Summarize Ahonen Twitter Contest, to summarize 30,000 words in Ahonen's monsterblog The Sun Tzu and Nokisoftian Microkia, the winner is.. apparently another mystery entrant !! It is someone who Tweets as Glonq @glonq - and this entrant has no description of him or herself, but uses the image of Baron Munchausen
[the table in the back with the imaginary Gillianists erupts in massive applause] - Adolphus, Berthold, Gustavus and Albrecht all start to cheer, hip-hip, hooray! hip-hip hooray! Even other imaginary Gillianists like the Time Bandits join in the cheers
So here, from Glonq @glonq is the Tweet that my followers voted was the best summary of the blog:
Missed the Titanic? Hindenburg? 1929 stock crash? @tomiahonen provides front-row seats to a modern disaster: http://bit.ly/OArMOD
That was the best summary and wins Glonq wins 3 ebooks his/her choice.
I really enjoyed this level of interactivity with my followers and love the points they picked out from the blog, the lines they liked and how they joined in retweeting the story. We had 34 entries that came in BEFORE the contest was launched, as spontaneous retweets summarizing the blog story, and so many have said on Twitter and in the over 100 comments to the blog, that it is the best thing I've ever written. Many have said the blog article by itself should be released as an ebook and when I suggested I will try to edit it down, I got immediate pushback from my fans, who said I am to do no such thing, while its long, it is comprehensive and funny, they did not want me to edit it down.
So there you have it. The Twitter version is here on this page. The cartoon versions are also here on this page haha (and anyone else, if you feel inspired to draw a cartoon about it, please feel free, I will add yours here to this blog too). And if you have not read the definitive blog about how Elop destroyed Nokia from the inside, why Elop is the Worst CEO of all time, you may want to grab a cup of coffee, block an hour of time, and read what should actually be a book - The Sun Tzu of Nokisoftian Microkia - 19 Strategic Blunders in 20 Months: Why Stephen Elop is the Worst CEO of All Time.

Those are some serious compression artifacts in the second cartoon. Can it be redone from the original as something more suitable like GIF or PNG?

Wow, I'm honored! Thanks Tomi, thanks everybody!
I've been on vacation in a far away, don't-use-your-mobile-or-you'll-get-killed-by-roaming-fees location, and didn't realize until today that I'd won.

But while the government has an interest as investor, that cannot be its only interest: if it were the only interest, then government should not be an investor at all.

And now, HP has just declared war on them. While their relationship is going to remain polite, and their current business relations will have to be maintained (they need one another WAY too much to break those for at least 5 years), they're entering a market, by themselves, in which there is only going to be one winner; one dominant ecosystem.
The current state of the computing market is unsustainable; it's becoming quite clear that computers right now are not what people want them to be. We all dream of a future that looks like its out of a sci-fi movie. This can only be achieved with one dominant ecosystem...

They feel these are a "failure" or which they cannot make constant earnings. Many investing platforms give you a 70 % or maybe more profit for the deal if your forecast is on target. Suppose, you'd purchased 10 agreements charging $150 to you.
