We have just passed the 3 millionth visitor cumulatively to this blog. Wow, I could never have imagined we'd ever reach 1 million visitors lifetime. The 2 millionth was only 9 months ago, while the first million took five years. I truly am humbled and I thank our readers and regular visitors. The value of this blog is at least as much in the comments as it is in my random ramblings and rants haha..
As celebration of the 3 millionth visitor (this weekend actually, early Sunday my time here in Asia) I launched the free ebook contest on Twitter with the Summarize Ahonen contest of yesterday's blog entry.
UPDATE July 12 - we have now the winners. Find out who were voted best Tweets, and as a bonus treat, I even received TWO original cartoons inspired by the blog, see them all here: Winners of Contest.
On this site we have over 2,000 blog posting articles, and they have generated over 25,000 comments (some which are spam, I try to remove all spam but sometimes it just gets stuck there and builds, certainly at least 90% of the comments are real discussion so if we say, 22,000 real comments, that is massive too). New visitors may be surprised to notice this is totally a charity project I run out of my spare time - there are no advertising banners, I have no registration, I don't collect your email and don't try to grow the eyeballs to sell this site or anything. I am here to share with you my views. My fans buy my books and reports, my paying customers book me for workshops and seminars. This blog is purely a hobby to connect with my readers and fans. No ads, never had it, never will, haha!
In the other areas of the digital space, I just passed 10,000 Twitter followers (again, an astonishing milestone) and I've sent my 50,000th actual Tweet. I myself have been able to follow back over 5,000 followers but the ratio of who follows me, and who do I follow back, is behaving like predicted, that gap unfortunately grows as I do not automatically follow all back, due to the bots.
On video, my famous 'Next 4 Billion' speech from Picnic Amsterdam has passed 35,000 views, and my brand new TEDx Talk about Augmented Reality as the 8th Mass Media has had very strong early attention, already passing 3,500 views.
Thank you to all who have supported this site over the past 7 years. I will try to bring value to you and keep reporting on what I think is important or relevant or interesting. I am @tomiahonen on Twitter if you want to follow me there on my frequent 'Twittefloods'
PS - OMG, just noticed huge traffic spike from Kauppalehti in Finland. So a few words to my Finnish friends and fans and followers.. Kiitos Kauppalehti a Kari Hanninen! Tuo uutisointi todella lammitti sydanta!
Niille jotka haluavat lukea 30,000 sanan mittaisen eepoksen jossa kaikki toimitusjohtaja Elop'in strategiavirheet on kirjattu yksiin kansiin - tuo blogi kirjoitus (talvisota vertauksineen) on tassa: The Sun Tzu of Nokisoftian Microkia. Ja positiiviseen suuntaan parhaat toiveeni Jolla yritykselle on tassa: Welcome Jolla.
I think you can also thank Stephen Elop; the disaster he created at Nokia made people want to know more about what's happening there, and understand the situation.
Well done anyway, as whatever reason people first come to your blog, they keep coming, and that's just thanks to your job.

I read this article and almost burst into tears. I have felt so bad about myself for the past couple years that it has gotten to the point where I will change my outfits several times in the morning if I feel I don't look good. Or I will completely restart my hair and make up all over again. I am constantly feeling bad about myself and can never quite pick out the good traits about myself. This article has helped me so much and I really think it's starting to change how I feel. I've even copied these steps and put them up in my locker to remind me. Oh yeah, I'm 14. What the hell has society done to the world
