@ylioptimistijollako: i think its possible having N9/N950 design/development background

@AtTheBottomOfTheHilton: They mentioned "Jolla is standing on shoulders of a giant" in some text.

On the other hand here there is an interview with tha CEO ( where he explicitely states they have 10+million euros...

So, something BIG is backing them. Or some really _wealthy_ personel. :-)

@ylioptimistijollako: Don't you read this blog? Meego is magic.

Not everything is lost. As I expected, some of the (ex)Nokia visionaries & risk takers would find opportunity out of chaos:

Einstein Three Rules of Work:
(1) Out of clutter (or chaos) find simplicity;
(2) From discord find harmony;
(3) In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

Congrats to Jolla... if successful, their work may in fact become Nokia's future baseline...

Really looking forward to this. Will be quite interesting, what a dedicated bunch of FOSS enthusiasts can do with sufficient backing. I've invested so much time in Linux/Qt/Gtk and I'm glad someone continues to provide hardware for those technologies. Linux is really coming of age nowadays. I'm writing this on a beautiful and great working Ubuntu Desktop, all my work evolves around Linux and now I can continue using it on a phone. What more of an ecosystem do you want?

They should get the rights to the N950. I wanted one when it was announced. No, want is too weak. Will pay more than for a 3g iPad and fly where I can get it.

Instead, I have a nice but not spectacular Android. I programmed for Maemo, Meego's predecessor.

Maybe China Mobile will sign up for a bunch. Maybe there will be a Miltemi version. I hope so.

I hate the lockout (try bluetooth spp) of iOS. Android works, but has its ideosyncratic if elegant app model. Meego is linux.

I hope someone enlightened buys the funeral pyre ashes of Nokia so it can rise like a Phoenix.

I'm very excited about Jolla. I knew I would not replace my N8 for an 808, even if I do admire the camera and I don't hate Symbian so much. I was finally starting to decide which Android I might pick... But now I know where my bet will be!

But regarding the design... Are you sure any of their employees have anything to do with N9's hardware?

Thanks to Jolla and writer,Really looking forward to this.
