"Gavin[of Coca Cola] said there are 1.7B cokes served daily."
1.7B daily?
Perhaps I am naive/stupid, but can someone explain whats wrong with my thoughts:
1.7B daily = ~700B annually.
~30 cents average price per bottle = $210B annual revenues on Coke alone!

But their annual report [http://www.thecoca-colacompany.com/investors/pdfs/10-K_2010/09_Coca-Cola_Item6-7.pdf] says their total revenues are $35B.

Tomi, what, no warning?

Arun, your statment assumes several things. That all factories are owned by Coke. There could be producers paying royalties. You are also excluding fountain drinks in your math. When a vendor serves via a fountain the carbonation, water, cup/container, can come from another vendor besides Coke. The amount of product supllied from Coke can be under five cents.

As the last post before a Bank Holiday weekend, I'd normally use this one to tell you that this is it for a few days, because on Monday I'll be on a beach somewhere with my suncream, and my kagool. And indeed I will, so it will be Tuesday before we are back slaving over a hot keyboard bringing you all the latest news.
