Those who saw me speaking in public in 2002 remember my highlight joke, the world's first mobile phone connected cow. My friend Mark Weisleder of Bell Canada had told the story of the world's first bovine with a cellular subscription - the lead cow in the herd had a beeper around its neck, and knew whenever the beeper started to beep, it was time to come to the farmer, to be milked. And the rest of the cows would follow this 'Bessie the Cow'. Mark told the story at a conference in London in February 2002 and I loved the story and made a Pearl about it which got a lot of laughs in events all around he world. Here is the slide from my presentation to CommunicAsia in June 2002 with the Connecting Cows in Canada:
So, now we have more on Conneting Cows in Canada. Its 2010 and the cutting edge Canadian Cows are of course now on Twitter! Mashable reports on an experiment at the University of Waterloo in Ontario where Twitter and some very clever milking high tech is used to record the milk production of the cows. And yes, the cows are on Twitter, they do their regular daily Tweets, with some bovine puns tossed in (something tells me its not cows actually composing the messages, that they have hired a ghost writer perhaps from the University haha). But yes, its the return of the Canadian Connected Cow!
My thanks to my dear friend Steve Epstein for sending me the link. Loved it, Steve!

I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your position on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read earlier. I am still contemplating over the opposite points of view, but I'm tipped heavily toward yours. And no matter, that's what is so great about modernized democracy and the marketplace of thoughts on-line.
