Facebook celebrates 5 years. Congratulations. The site has grown to be bigger than Myspace and is clearly a communities-dominate type of service that we often reference here at our blog.
How are their numbers? the BBC just earlier today reported that Facebook has 110 million users. But Ad Age, quoting ComScore numbers for December, said Facebook had 222 million unique users during that month. Well, whatever the number, it is big. And they are gradually making some money too. Ad Age reported that Facebook made about 300 million dollars of revenues last year, so earned a little over one dollar per active users, over the full year. Not massive incomes yet, but they are at least making money (Myspace with less users earns several times more). In any case, whether its 110 million or 222 million, a lot of millions of users at Facebook. Congratulations!
