The Japanese invented the fashion-branded custom phone years ago, when Benetton released its first phone models on the NTT DoCoMo network. Since then we've seen various traditional fashion brands getting into phones from Prada with LG, Dolce & Gabbana with Motorola and Armani with Samsung. Now the latest to get into it is leather goods brand Coach, which will release custom Coach-designed phones (made by SonyEricsson) as a premium luxury phone product in Japan, on the KDDI network, and available in November. We heard about it from our friend Tim Harrap, who found the story at the Japan Marketing News website.
