So Alan Moore, Steve Jones and I returned to Oxfrod University for our short course for executives, around Mobile Social Networking. We had a very lively group with members from handset makers, network operators, and all manner of community providers from multiplayer gaming to dating to ethnic subgroups. Representation from Western and Eastern Europe, North America, Middle East (and myself of course now representing Asia). Advertising in mobile social networking was reprsented, and we also had various experts from academia to consulting around these topics.
Steve and Alan and I all greatly enjoyed seeing each others' latest thinking, case examples and how much the mobile social networking story has evolved since June when we ran the course before. But much more rewarding for all of us was the great discussion between the group of true experts who are doing this work on a daily basis. I learned of many cool examples, several that I will want to share here at our blog (and at Forum Oxford obviously). I'm awaiting on some of the follow-up items etc before I blog about those stories.
For those interested, we will be of course return to the Forum Oxford conference on the future of mobile applications (including mobile communities naturally) which will be happening around April in Oxford. And Alan, Steve and I will re-run the Mobile Social Networking short course at Oxforfd University probably in June next.
Hi Tomi
As one of the attendees on the course, I can vouch for how brilliant the whole course was: the tutors, the material, the delegates and the discussion. Despite being involved in social networks and their analysis for some years, and mobile social networking more recently, the course opened my eyes to many new possibilities.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the course to anyone interested in mobile social networks and their implications.
I lok forward to getting more involved in Forum Oxford.

Its indeed a pleasure to know about the course & the topic of study especially after considering the faster rate at which "Mobile Social Networking" is growing today.
These courses I must say are knowledgeable & as well recomendable to all those thriving to build their careers with innovation, especially to coup with the new area of developements happening in mobile networking & the competition arising in the current market.
Here is one such new thing that I came across which was targeted to the US crowd & may soon be following the world over, access to networking without GPRS,EDGE or internet.
