Our friend Jose Menendez from ichameleon Group wrote to tell about the campaign Mentos ran (it has since ended) about Trevor the Intern. A rather cool idea, Trevor (a real intern) would be available in short periods of 15 minutes at a time slot, 8 hours per day, to take viewer requests to do errands. Like call up your boss to ask for a raise for you, or making wedding proposals, etc.
This is engagement with a brand, not only interactivity, but getting the audience to co-create the value. Great experiment Mentos, here's hoping you'll hire another "Trevor" the Intern for more. To see what they did, check out this website http://us.mentos.com/
My kids on an iPodtouch when on a WiFi area make/receive phone calls and video phone calls (via faceTime, Skype, Fring, etc), send/receive SMS/MMS via Skype and other apps, etc.
