But my jaw dropped to read of a US Airways mechanic and a US Airways pilot getting it on in the pugalistic sense.

Like others, I endured a trip through hell last night on what should have been a routine two-hour flight from Phoenix to Houston (flight 2885). I was lucky, though, since it ran only four hours late. But also like the other postings here, I was appalled by a "customer service" by the same kind of nasty incompetent staff that ran the transports to Auschwitz. Unbelievable: people with a little power and no brains. The trip included:After discovering a mechanical failure and getting the plane back to the gate, the pilot and mechanic got into a fist fight; the flight crew walked off;
And of course, on the tales could go. My whole experience with this airline was a revelation about how much they despise their passengers. I will certainly not fly with them again, and will do my best to warn friends to avoid them.

How many airline execs actually fly their airlines in the same manner as their customers? Except for Southwest, I have to assume few to none. I doubt they actually know how pathetic their services are. Isn't one of the perks of being a Fortune 500 executive that you no longer have to travel alongside poor slobs like me?
Re: The fist fight. You'd think all the $5 fees for headphones on international flights should pay for some anger management training. Shamelessly, they still describe their in-flight entertainment as "complimentary." Yes, it's free as long as customers are content to watch without being able to listen.
My final flight with US Airways was last week... why did I have so much more leg room on one of their little commuter jets than I did on the Airbus that flew me from Philly to London? No doubt, they'll figure out a way to shove even more seats into their long-haul aircraft.
But first, let's please do some routine maintenance checks on tray tables. It's no fun having to support one broken end with your knee while eating so that your food doesn't spill onto the next passenger's lap. I thought my $800 deserved better than that.
