Camphone paparazzi: New York steampipe bursting caught on numerous camphones

We reported in our book that citizen journalism was starting to emerge with the spread of cameraphones. We've seen it in other countries for several years already, with the Christmas Tsunami in Asia, the 7/7 London bombings etc. Now CNN was reporting that the New York City incident of the steampipe bursting was one of the first major breaking news stories in America where video and pictures shot by cameraphones formed the early news footage. Yes, this is changing breaking news coverage everywhere..

Yes and what about YouTube footage being used(and quoted as such)this week on the BBC News 24 channel to show what it's like to land at Sao Paulo's domestic airport in rain following the recent crash.

John Varney made a great presentation on this at the TV2.0 event in London this week, tracking the change in TV journalism from 9/11 through the Asia Tsunami to the trgic events on 7/7 in London. He commented that 9/11 was the last major news event where coverage was exclusively provided by broadcasters. I believe him.

There was a stimulating and sometimes bizarre debate at TV2.0 on all of this - I haven't seen much on this on the blogoshpere. I'll post
on this shortly

Wooden panels of cabinets can be given a water repellent polyurethane finish for greater resistance to corrosion. You should measure your community and think of where you might prefer the new cabinets to fit. I have seen site built 'custom' cabinets in homes that are all plywood instead of what you would call 'of quality.
