We've talked a lot about convergence with Alan Moore in our book, here at the blog and in our presentatoins. Convergence in telecoms, fixed and mobile. Convergence of internet, telecoms and media (so-called The Y of Convergence); convergence of industries such a mobile, internet, banking, credit cards etc.
Now at the Forum Oxford Conference, telecoms pundit and consultant and good friend of ours, Vladimir Dimitroff, pointed out that with User-Generated Content and concepts such as SeeMeTV and Ohmy News, a customer is converging with the concept of employee. Same is happening in the virtual worlds like Second Life and Habbo Hotel as well as MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) like World of Warcraft and Lineage. Yes, we totally agree. Excellent point. And thanks to Russell Buckley for reminding me of this wonderful insight in Russell's excellent conference review at his MobHappy blogsite.
In a People Centric Society we will not be classified by corporations to mere consumers and employees..
