World first? Nightclub passes ONLY via mobile

We've reported of various mobile ticketing ideas, from rock concert ticket sales to airline tickets and public transportation subways, trams etc. But this is a first as far as I can tell. Now a disco/night club in the UK has set its special night to be one, where tickets can only be reserved and bought via mobile phone. It is the Detonate night club in Nottingham in the UK, and the event is their anniversary party. All must order tickets via mobile, and the tickets will be delivered via bar codes to the phone (to be shown/scanned at the door).

So its coming to this: already the coolest parties start to discriminate against those who aren't part of Generation-C? Ha-ha, yes, why not. We don't want old fogies spoiling the parties...  (source for the story New Media Age, Jan 25, 2007)
