To build the mobile internet? Google and Orange of course, via HTC smarphone

The Guardian/Observer reported yesterday that the mobile operator (carrier) giant Orange is in development with Google to release a smartphone optimised for search and internet services. The phone would be manufactured by HTC. Sounds most promising. Orange is perhaps the most advanced European operator in expanding into communities. Google obviously has stated publically that their future is not the fixed web, but rather the mobile internet. Makes sense for them to collaborate and release a phone that is optimised for this. We'll keep our eyes on this.
