You are right, most people are accessing the web via mobile and are doing pretty much anything else they would do with a pc (that's why there are apps to make it easier as usually large websites - eg. Amazon - aren't that optimized for mobile).
PCs are still preferred to a mobile when at home, but you don't see many people going around with laptops anymore - unless they need some specific software, most people now use a tablet or their mobile when they are out.
