2D Barcodes meet mobile dating - The 3G Dating Agency

I love it when things start to come together. So regular readers know I believe strongly in 2D Barcodes ie QR Quick Response codes intended to be read by cameraphones (I even print one on the back of my current business card, and that 2D Barcode brings online visitors directly to this blog ha-ha).

So I was very happy to meet up with a friend, Romi Parman, who runs the 3G Dating Agency, at the Oxford Mobile Social Networking course last December. And his company has now introduced 2D Barcodes to the 3G mobile dating world. Their motto is "Take the waiting out of dating" as the 2D Barcode allows very rapid instant access to their website, no typing on the smartphone keypad. Myself and other members of the S60/Nokia blogosphere have already been using QR codes when we write reviews for software or services on the mobile. Sometimes people aren't in the mood to type out a simple url or worse yet type out the location of a SIS file. One company, Epocware, saw their downloads of HandyTaskman sky rocket when I had the QR code to the sis file in my review. I don't know why others are using it to be honest.
